Here at the Reflexology Room we tailor each treatment to our client’s specific needs. Therefore I may suggest 60 minutes of two combined treatments, which I discuss before each treatment. Please note that in busy periods there is a two / three week waiting period.
Getting to know you and your health is a priority before starting treatment.
There are many benefits to reflexology, these being:
Reflexology is the ancient art of healing by working pressure points on the feet and hands that correspond to different organs, glands or structures of the body.
It has been practiced for around five thousand years and its origins have been traced from inscriptions found in a physician’s tomb in Egypt. It is then believed this form of healing spread from Egypt via the Roman Empire to India, China and North America.
How Reflexology works
The body has the ability to heal itself given the opportunity to do so. After illness or stress vital energy pathways in the body become blocked preventing the body from functioning normally. Reflexology helps unblock these pathways by ridding the body of toxins and improving circulation. This restores the body to its natural state and encourages healing.
How can Reflexology help?
Reflexology treatments can provide a wonderful way to relax and unwind from the stresses of our busy lifestyles. It has been known to help with a variety of conditions.
How I work
Firstly my technique is fairly firm, I am not a Gentle Touch Reflexologist; I think this is important for you to know. However I always ask my clients if the pressure is comfortable for them, and adjust accordingly, I also work energetically.
The job of a reflexologist is not just to give a fantastic treatment; it is my job to treat holistically! I research all conditions, medications, vitamins & supplements, and give the best possible advice regarding diet, exercise & lifestyle. My clients can then go home and can begin to put their new healthy lifestyle into action. I expect my clients to work with the advice I give them and in turn they become healthier people.
Reflexology is a therapy that you should have regularly; it may take up to six treatments to have an effect especially if you have a chronic condition. Regular treatments may help to prevent further conditions, therefore is preventative.
